The activities of two organizations at the prestigious Columbia University in the United States have been suspended by the university administration. Both organizations are pro-Palestinian. Yesterday, the university administration announced that the two organizations will not be allowed to conduct activities on campus.

The two organizations are Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP). Members of these organizations have been involved in various initiatives against Israel's indiscriminate attacks in Gaza. In light of their activities, the university has decided to halt their programs. However, this decision has faced criticism from some quarters at Columbia University.

The university administration has been accused of violating rules in implementing 'campus conduct policies' by two organizations. However, critics argue that this criticism is a distraction from condemning Israeli attacks in Palestine. Through this, there is an attempt to promote anti-Israel sentiments in the American hemisphere.

In protest against the suspension of activities, both organizations have issued a joint statement. It states, 'Even if there is a suspension, our commitment to freedom, humanity, and the liberation of Palestinians will not waver from its principled position. Our actions will be louder than our voices.'

On this matter, the director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in New York, Afaf Nasher, said in a statement, 'Once again, we are witnessing attempts to suppress pro-Palestinian voices on campus.'

On October 7th, Hamas, a pro-independence organization in Palestine, launched an attack in Israel. In response, Israel initiated an offensive in Gaza on the same day. The ongoing attacks in the country have claimed the lives of more than 11,000 people in Gaza so far, with a significant number being women and children.
